Meet Isis Wood

Founder & Principal Designer, Rooted Sky Interior Studio

I’m Isis Wood, founder and principal designer of Rooted Sky Interior Studio, a multidisciplinary design practice rooted in storytelling, community, and intentional living.

Born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia, I developed an early appreciation for how culture, creativity, and connection shape the spaces around us. My design journey began in fashion as a Design Assistant and Seamstress for Jaell Fashion Design, where I discovered a passion for craftsmanship, materials, and creating experiences through design. While fashion was my foundation, I realized I wanted to create environments where people could live, gather, and grow, leading me to pursue an Interior Design BFA at the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) in Atlanta, Georgia.

My experience spans residential and hospitality design, including roles with Pineapple House Interior Design, Lucid Design & Construction in New York, and Blessed Little Bungalow. Through travel and exposure to diverse cultures, I’ve developed a design perspective that blends global inspiration with authentic, personal storytelling.

I am especially passionate about furniture design and the way thoughtfully designed pieces can create comfort, connection, and character within a space. Today, through Rooted Sky Interior Studio, I create interiors that are elevated, functional, and deeply rooted in the people who experience them. Design has never been just a career path for me; it has been part of who I am for as long as I can remember.
